Instagram Account Tracking: Use Cases and Setup Tips

Updated: 2026-10-28 · 6 min read

A single save is for “the occasional image”; tracking is for “keeping up with someone.” This guide starts from real use cases, explains when tracking is worth turning on, how to set it up so it stays easy, and how to choose a plan based on need rather than upgrading right away.

How tracking works

Add a public account under Following and Meecut checks it every 6 hours by default, saves new posts automatically and files them by person in your library. You do not refresh or remember to look. You can optionally sync saved files to your own Google Drive. Stories are kept for only 24 hours, so continuous tracking is the way to avoid missing them.

Choosing a plan

Start with the 30-day free trial. It needs a payment method up front, nothing is charged during the trial, billing starts after 30 days on the plan you chose, and you can cancel any time during the trial. Watch for a month how many accounts you actually track and how many captures you use, then decide between Standard, Pro and Premium. Retention (7 days, 90 days, permanent), tracking slots and the monthly allowance are the three main differences; see the plans on the page for details.
